do fry need heat?
I have been unable to get to town to get a breeders net. Adult white Clouds can live without heaters does this apply to the fry as well?? Without air circulation???
I have a gallon betta bowl that is in the closet. If the fry can do without heat and air pump I could place them in there with tank water until Monday.
Someone in the tank has a sense of humor and has tried to do the buggers in three time today by pushing the floating plants into the suction path of the bio filter.
Hard lesson learned, if you permanently break down a tank, keep parts that still work in case of emergency. I had 2 1/2 gallon betta tank and threw everything (including a junior heater) out since it was old(wish I could of seen the possible need at the time?? Kicking myself now.
im pretty sure they wont be needing it.
my platty fry dont have any.
(i also live in florida(so its hot most of the time))
well matt you cant be sure of that, whats your tanks temperature?
theyll probably survive without...especially over a short period of time...assuming of course theyre atleast in a warm room. however if they aren't going to get the benefit of air circulation anyway from an airstone theres no reason you have to deprive them of the heat as well. Assuming the betta bowl will fit in the larger tank put the fry in there with tank water and float it in the main tain. This will give the fry the benefit of the heat until you can work out a more permanent solution. Same principle as floating a bag of newly aquired fish in a tank until the temperature equalizes.
