Got some platys yesterday
So me and my fiance decided we would like some platys so went to pets at home to get some.. Got some really lovely colours. The guy at the fish shop said to get 2 boys and 4 girls cause we wanted 6. But once home I noticed one of the females is a male and one of the males may possibly be a Molly. His dorsal fin is closer to his head so longer and higher than the other platys his body also seems longer and thinner. I tried to get a picture but he doesn't like to keep still! I named him bolt. Anyway is having 2 male platys and 3 females ok? And if bolt is a Molly is he alright on his own? Or should we get a couple of female Molly's? He does hang around with the platys though so doesn't seem lonely. If he is a platy is 3 males and 3 females alright? I don't want my fishys fighting the really are pretty :) x
They should all be fine together keep an eye on them in case males get a little aggressive towards females if so you can always add a few more females . if you do have a Molly it should be fine with platy's no need to get more molly's
