im no considering giving my larger pleco back to my lfs and trading him with somethng else. wat would everyone suggest as a good algae eater and nice n friendly??? r corys algae eaters??? im not too keen on certain loaches as i had 1 before and i wached him suck my old goldfish to death!! thanks in advance

corys definitely arent algae eaters. Neither are loaches as far as I know. Personally if the only reason you're looking to have a pleco or other fish of that type is algae control you may want to consider not having one at all. Live plants will generally out compete algae for available nutrition and keep it in check if not outright eliminate it. My main tank very rarely has algae thanks to the plants. If you're dead set on having an algae eating fish you may want to try an oto. I've never personally kept them but I hear they are pretty good at taking care of algae.

thanks for the info, i dont have real plants as i cant afford them!! so i definately need somethin to keep algae in check :)

live plants must cost a bit more over there than they do here then. My 37 gallon tank has maybe 20 dollars worth of plants in it if that (of course some of them have spread on their own but even if you had to spend twice that initially I'd think it would be worth it in terms of the improved water quality and look they will provide.
