How much Eheim Substrat bio media to order

Hi,

Looking at biological media for my new second hand Rena XP2 canister filter. It is looking like the Eheim Substrat is one of the best out there. Looking at Marine Depot website there are several amounts to order from 0.25 liters to 5 Liters. Can anyone tell me what amount I need or may want. It is kind of expensive so I'd rather not buy more than I need. Thanks.

Lol, guess I have another question. I haven't been able to find one but is there a sponge attachment that goes on the intake for a Rena XP.
