one more question about my sump

ok i have one more question about my sump before i get started. how do i know the amount of water being returned to the display is the same amount as being syphoned out of the tank???

What is your syphon rated for? What is your pump rated for?

zachhay11 08-07-2009 02:19 PM

well the pump is a 950 GPH pump and i'm not sure about the syphon. its a single drain thing. just one pipe. the guy at the shop said the pump should be fine for single draining syphonsl.

Do you have the model number of the syphon? Most likely the syphon should be able to handle a 950 GPH, but just in case, put a ball valve on the pump to control its output.

i have one. i believe, sorry i hate to embarras myself but i'm newDX. isn't that the little handle that controlls the output on the return pipe?

Yes. That's it. Does it control the flow? It might take some fine tuning, but the siphon should flow in tune with the pump.

true. i'll turn it on later and keep track of the water levels and turn it as needed.
