So,if a fish is scared of your hand,is it consider to be domesticated?

I have always thought that the word "domestication" involve the change in behavior and appearance from its wild counterpart due to human contact.

So,if the fish react to my hand, since it is an external stimuli when it comes to fish food, then I guess the fish are domesticated to a point, but if it is scared whenever I just want to touch it a little bit with my hand.

The fish swim away,so is that due to their wild instinct?

My gut feeling is that is has nothing to do with Domestication, but more simply, related to Pavlov's Theory of Association. The fish has association you hand and the movement of your hand with FOOD. They then follow your hand with the hopes of getting fed. When your hand gets close enough to touch them, they then realise that the is no food being offered and that maybe they are a little too close to you, then they swim away. Hey, I'm no scientist but that would make sense to me...:-D

fish have a natural slime coat for protection....is trying to touch them really good for them???

No, touching them isn't really a good idea at all. From what I understand the oils in your skin disrupts the slime coat.
