I had a question about cycling my 10 gallon tank, how many days of adding ammonia until the NO2 spikes?
The ammonia is currently at 5ppm.
I used these guidelines for my fishless cycle: Fishless Cycling - Tropical Fish Forums
I used the add and wait method (or something like that). My fishless cycle went very, very quickly however I used media from my existing tank and I have alot of plants in my new tank, which helped. I was told with all of the plants that I have, I didn't need to bother w/ a fishless cycle but I have angelfish and two of my angelfish are a breeding pair, so I didn't want to chance it. I'm still checking my water parameters 2x per day and will continue to do so for the next few weeks. I know it's probably overkill, but I feel better to be safe than sorry.
Hopefully mine will be over with soon. I have 6 live plants and some "rub" from another established tanks filter.
