Buon Giorno Ognuno! New Betta owner!
Ciao Belli!

I'm Ellie, I just got a pastel opaque betta yesterday (named Bianco), my first fish since my last betta, Merlin, passed away while I was at a family reunion out of state a few years back.

I get my love of animals from my mom. Growing up, my sister and I had any number of rodents, reptiles, dogs, cats, bird and, you guessed it, fish. I've had saltwater aquariums, freshwater aquariums, 2 gallon tanks and 99 gallon tanks. I've known how to test water since I was six years old.

I prefer tropical fish to saltwater fish, largely because of the damage inflicted on reefs by people trying to catch saltwater fish. I'm interested to know if anyone knows of more ecologically friendly harvesting tactics.

I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about taking care of Bianco so I don't have another experience like Merlin.

Wow, thanks everyone!

I apologize in advance for any tangents I go off on, especially if they're in a foreign language.
