Foggy Water
 

I phoned up my mother the on Sunday to feed my fish. Because I wasn't home. She gave them 2 pinches of food. The following day, the water was foggy & looked yellow. I waited til Thursday to change the water. I took out 1/4 of the water, cleaned the gravel, etc. And today is Friday and the tank still is foggy & yellow? Does anyone know why? I've had these fish & tank for over 6 months. And no problems til now.

My tank is 10 gallons
I have 6 Serape tetras
5 black skirted tetras
A bubbler
1 filter that sits on the side of the tank.

Should I do another water change? Or wait it out til Thursday? Also I did the ammonia test everything is good.

another water change isnt gonna hurt anything................give it a try and test for everything and see what the reslults are and post please..........

Maybe put fresh carbon in your filter to see if that helps. Water change wouldn't hurt either.

also i wanted to ask have you got any wood in there ?
how longs the tank been set up for. ?

I've had my tank set up for about 10 months.
No wood.
I did 2 water changes since I posted, and the water still has not come out clear.
On todays water change I put in a new filter.
If this does not help.
Can someone please tell me exactly how much of a water change I should do.
1/2 the tank? 1/4 of the tank? etc.?

Make sure to put in a new filter and that should clear things up. I was recently having a problem with a cloudy 10 gallon, so I put in a new filter as well. It fixed the problem and I didn't have to do any more water changes!
