How to rig my lighting Hey everyone, I'm new to this website. I have a problem with my lighting situation on my tank. I have a 24 inch dual satellite, and I'm trying to rig it onto a 30 inch tank. I can't find a glass canopy that fits my tank for some reason, and recently failed with plexi glass. If I bought mounting legs for my light, could I adjust the legs far enough for my tank? What would you guys do in my situation? I got this light practically brand new for 20 dollars, thats why I didn't buy a 30 inch light. |
I would say use the mounting legs, but you may have some issues. Do you not have a canopy. |
No I don't have a canopy, I wish I did so I could just go with the retro fits. Do you think that mounting legs would be able to stretch an additional 3 inches on each side to make up for the difference in length. |
No. Maybe use a couple pieces of rigid plactic or plexiglass to span the top of the tank. Just like a glass lid, but only where needed. They would fit right in the groove of the rim of the tank. |
Saltlife, is there anyway you can take a picture of the lights and the top of the tank, and post them? |
