*TEN GALLON*

what to do what to do? I currently have a small goldfish. Iv had it for 3 weeks... and discovered that i cant have goldfish because my room temp. is always high and makes the water too warm (78+) (i have reptiles and heat lamps). so i will be finding a new home for my goldfish... and then i will have an empty 10 gallon tank... and i dont know what i want to do with it...i was thinking a small catfish... then after browsing the forums i noticed the vivariums... i really dont know what to put in my tank... im not really fond of any of the smaller minnow like fish... like tetras, rasboras, danios, etc. and would be content with a single fish that is very interesting and has much personality... i really have no clue right now. any ideas on tank layouts, fish, creatures etc?

you could get a shrimp?

and a couple of apple snails,
and if you want personality, 3 or 4 corydoras ( maybe the pigmy species or a peppered corydoras ( C. Paleatus ) or C.aenus.

hope this helps.... :D

i keep my goldfish in my tropical tank which is heated and he loves it!!!! wats ur room temp???

my room is usually around 78 or 80... which i thought was bad for a goldfish... but then again i dont really know a lot about goldfish i have never had them before... i do know that they stress me out and i always think they are going to be dead when i come home...

I would avoid goldfish at all costs unless you are prepared to do a daily water change as part of the tank maintenance. 10 gallons is far too small even for a single goldfish. I'd stick to the other options. There are tetras, barbs, white clouds, rasboras and loaches for you to choose.

Yeah, i wouldnt keep the goldfish, they are huge waste producers. Vivaruims are nice, when you figure out what you want to do. you could try a newt or a frog or something.

I'm sure Kathryn would be very happy to see you join her club into keeping fire-bellied newts.:) I've seen those nice creatures before but never had a decision in my mind to keep them.:)

hmm you could have like 4 otos in that tank as long as you can create algae. Or cories (cories are very funny fish) or a mossy shrimp tank, or a newt tank, or a minnow tank. The possiblilities are endless

yeah as i already stated i am not fond of the small minnow like fish... i had some when i was little, they all died and ever since i really dont like them... and i know ten gallons is too small for my goldfish even though i do water changes every three days and my water is always perfect... that is just waaaaaayyyyy to much work! gosh... i am still so lost haha.
