Two New Female Guppies
I just got two female guppies from the LFS and i heard that if they are with males at the store then they are most likely pregnant. They both have gravid spots, but they don't seem as big as some that I've seen pictures of. They both tend to hang out at the top of the tank or sometimes at the bottom. When do I know they are about to give birth? I'll post pictures soon if I can. Thanks.

With my guppies they just seem to get fatter and fatter all the time and it seems like they take forever to have fry, but when they do they only get a little smaller! lol Thats what i love about guppies all the babies!!!

How many guppies do you have in your tank and how many are male and female?

Well right now I have 4 adult males and like 6 adult females but with all my new fry that are almost full grown theres proabaly like close to 10 or 12 in all! What about your tank?

Sry what i meant to say was there is probably like 10 or 12 females in all and all together there is probably like 15 or 16 plus the male and female molly i've had in there forever.

I have a 10 gallon with 2 females and 3 males and an algae eater. Didn't know about the female to male ratio your supposed to have so the males dont chase the females to death. I went to Petsmart the other day to get more females but the lady told me that I would be overstocking it. I thought I could atleast have two more.

See some people have told me about the whole overstocking but there guppies they live in huge numbers! I've seen a 55g tank once that probably had over 80 male and female all together and they were healthy as all get out! So i would get some more females for sure!

Yeah I'm planning on getting some more for sure. I'm new to this so I thought guppies would be a good start. I would really like to get some black mollies after my guppies. I think they are pretty neat and still kind of a hardy fish. I'm really excited to see if my guppies have babies though. I won't have to worry about overstocking becuase my LFS has a donation tank.

dont worry about 7 fish for a 10 gallon tank is ok, cause their so small

Thats awesome and trust me before u know it your guppies will be popping out fry! I used to have some balck mollys but all thats left now is one male and i dont think hes gonna last that much longer...but ya black molly are good starter fish too! Keep me posted on how everything goes and it would be cool to see some pics of your tank and fish!
