CF lighting for seeding base rock I want to seed some base rock and aragonite sand in a 10 gallon tank while I wait to receive a bigger tank. The tank is a topfin10 gallon beginner tank from petsmart...it has a hood with 2 screw in incandescent light fixtures. Could I use compact fluorescent bulbs 23 Watt Compact Fluorescent 6500 Kelvin This would give more than enough wattage, my only concern is that they are 6500K...is this enough to turn base rock live? Keep in mind that I do not want to buy a fixture for this tank since I will need to spend that money on buying a fixture for my 29 gallon tank. Also if this is possible, how much rock can I squeeze into the tank...no fishies or coral...just rock and sand. thanks! |
you dont need and light, sand, or even the 10 gallon tank. you could use a tub with a heater, power head and a few pounds of established live rock to seed base rock. |
