fish that will not eat guppy fry

Does anyone know for certain what other fish will not eat my guppies fry? Currently, guppies are the only species we have (4 generations that have been born in my tank) and they have never eaten the fry. I would like to get other fish to go in the tank but I want to make sure the babies are safe. I have heard tetras, danios and discus would do well, but then read elsewhere that the discus and danios would be nasty. The tank is 40 gal and there are about 15 adult guppies and 6 fry. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ottos don't eat guppy fry, and I'm not sure about cories... you should also be safe with some small schooling tetras or danios such as blue danios or neon tetras.

could you give me a few examples of tetras you think would work? Thanks!

Instead of takeing the risk you could try a new guppy varity like the delta tail petsmart sells them they are realy cool.

You could get a lot of cover and do most things

neon tetras, Buenos Aires tetra, Black neon tetras (much hardier than normal neon tetras), glolight tetras, cardinal tetras, red phantom tetras, diamond tetras, glass tetras, and flame tetras should all be fine with guppy fry

I wouldn't recommend discus...if you get any like mine the fry would be a nice treat for them.

i agree with veganchick, except the Buenos Aires Tetras.........They get a little larger than most tetras and can be rather nippy if in with the wrong fish.........Discus wont work with guppy fry, discus require totally different water parameters than guppies do, plus you would have to upgrade your tank size for discus........

Thanks everyone! I ended up getting black neon, cardinal and skirt tetras and two otos. They seem to be doing well and all the babies are still in there!
