New to Board with Apple Snail Death Possible

My I am new here, hello everybody. Husband moved our daughter's apple snail to a new tank last night, he got stuck in the intake valve and is now floating with trap door open. He was very active before this and the floating is worrisome. Any tips for this guy or is it too late? Floating is not a good sign is it? He looks pale and out of his shell.

welcome to the site! unfortunately, I kind of think your snail might be gone :( however my apple snails will float occasionally. try picking him up and smelling him, or perhaps giving him a couple more days. if he doesnt move, its probably safe to say he's gone.

but i love snails! i'd be happy to help with questions!

Thanks for the prompt reply

Thanks for the prompt reply. We did move him to a jar with his old filter in there and will give him a couple days. Apparently, his mouth parts were the ones to get stuck. It probably did alot damage. He was fine this morning resting and closing his door on occasion. I have a feeling my husband will be getting another snail tomorrow. He was so lively and always hungry, I am sure he was looking for food.
