Quick Question about black convicts!

Do they pair off for life? I've already had 1 pair lay 2 sets of eggs since i've had them for about a month, I recently found a much nicer looking male and I want to know If I can take the one male out and stick the new one in?

Convicts simply live to keep breeding. You could try switching the males but make sure the new one is bigger than the female or the female may beat him constantly.
