will my starfish eat polpys?
 
i just got some polpys, a few assorted colony, button, and starburst.
will my chocolate chip star eat polpys i know he eats coral but is it all types or just certain. i hate to get ride of him. thank you.

If I remember right he will, unless you keep him well feed. I mean I could be wrong but I know if they are not feed regulary they will eat what ever they come accross.

well soon as i put the polpys he went straight for it so i threw him on the other side of the tank, im gonna have to get ride of him, i dont wanna have him eat anything...not gonna risk it.

I've said numerous times on this board, chocolate chip stars are not reef safe. Most stars are not.

Brittle stars (except the big green ones), sand shifting, and linika are about the best stars for the home aquarium. Linika stars should not be introduced to a tank that is not at least a year old.

Your best bet........take the star fish back. So many people are not aware that they eat corals, any kind of corals.
