Cichlids are killing me
hey recently new to fish tank ... so im quite a beginner, i have 6 Cichlids
2 zebra blue
they are making a mess, each morning the plants have been ripped up everywhere, everything is all over the place, is there anyway i can stop this ??? like put a weight underneath plant or something, there getting at the roots .. its really annoying having to fix them up each morning
sorry to hear but unfortunately that is normal cichlid behaviour.
african cichlids will keep rearranging the tank everyday till THEY are happy with it........I think your gonna have a real hard time keeping real plants alive with africans........they will even dig up fake plants if they dont like where they are at........all the african tanks i had over the years, only had rocks and gravel.........they will more or less make the tank they want it and move stuff around to suit them, just make sure your rocks are stacked rather solid so they cant collapse them on themselves when they are digging
You should really stop sitting in your tank if they are doing enough damage to you to make you fear that they will cause your death. Must be some large fish. Really though, feeding them cichlid pellets is a much better alternative than attempting to provide them sustenance from your own flesh. If they are truly killing you, you should seek medical attention immediately.
