Bacterial Bloom won't stop!

I have a 45 gallon aquarium that houses a RES and some fish. In the 2 months that I've had this new tank, It's only been clear once for a couple days. I am not new to fish keeping, but this is something I've never had happen before. The tank has a bacterial bloom that won't go away. I've done water changes, changed filters, and tried many other things to get rid of it.

Please help!

Mine did the same thing!! I just left it alone and it went away on its own.

Kill the lights and stop adding food.

Should clear up in about a week or so.

You say you're not new, so probably it is what you say. But just to be thorough, what color is the water, what are the params, what are you feeding?

All the water levels are normal. I have an odd setup so I am using three different foods. I use cichlid pellets, tropical fish flakes, and Different foods for the RES. I do make sure that any leftover food is taken out

Have you ever tried SeaChem purigen? It really helps keep the water clear in newer tanks.

Well it is not a newer tank. And I won't add anything unless I absolutely have to
