Just got back from a local grocery store that also sells fish. I have heard of these tattoo fish, but had not seen any till today.
A little girl was dragging her mom across the store to see the fish with hearts. They had balloon mollies with hearts on each side and some with tiger stripes.
I can see how this could appeal to children, but to me they looked awful!!!
Poor fish, what will they do next?
Thats bad! Do the fish people have a heart? Because obviously the fishes have a couple
Poor fish, you know what that must do to the fish's health!!!
I've actually heard and seen this on youtube... supposedly its not good for the fish thoo
How do you tatto a fish and it live?
You kill a lot of fish in the process is my only thought to that question, Bary trotter. I'm surprised more don't die of stress-related causes after being tattooed.(sp?)
I read that they use laser, said to be less damaging than the use of dye injection. I would still rather see fish in their natrual beauty.
My girlfriend's balloon mollie had a batch of babies and they all are tiger striped naturally...don't know how it happened, but they are.
Is your camera working Herky? I would love to see the tiger striped fry once they have grown a bit. My creamsicles have lots of strange dark color splotches when first born but take on their adult coloring at a fairly young age of just a few weeks.
Fry on day 32
I will try to get a picture up, but they are about 3 months old, and not showing any signs of changing colors. Pretty neat looking, they are muted stripes, but very visible.
We have several like your first pic that are of a younger batch and yeah, they do start getting different colors fairly fast...I keep expecting these bigger ones to lose the stripes but they haven't yet. Some of the bigger ones are kinda polka dotted black and white like a dalmatian, but I expect them to develop into solid colors.
URRGHH! One of my friends has my usb cable for the camera...as soon as I get it back I will get some pics for you.
