May have some new fish tomorrow.
My Black Phantoms laid eggs today (saturday). I was able to save about 4 or 5 of them. I have a syringe that i use for water samples, and i sucked them into that and dropped them in to a breeder net hanging on the side. This is my second attempt at hatching fry. I also took my biggest water lettuce and moved it in to the breeder net, needed to give them protection from the light and a place for them to feel comfortable.
I am not an avid breeder i just happened to notice my fish were in a breeding mode and sat down to watch. All in all i think they laid eggs 4 time today. I have 8 total Phantoms (4m/4f).
Wish me luck, hopefully with have some fry swimming around tomorrow (sunday) around noon central. ((read they have about a 24 hour hatching period))
well i think i saw what looked like an egg with a tail swimming around today (sunday) it was real hard to tell as they are so small! I was viewing them after my lights went off for the day and just using a flashlight. We will see in the morning when i got off work.
I'll keep you posted for anyone following!
With little tetras like that you need to feed them green water and that is likely impossible in a breeder net. You can't move them, so you may want to look up fry food post haste
