Hey everyone

I'm new to this site but i've been doing freshwater tanks for a couple of years. I've just started getting back into it with a 55 gallon, tropical freshwater and live plant tank that i'm just finishing getting materials for. I've never done live plants before and i'm kind of excited to be getting back into fish keeping again. I've successful kept several different freshwater tanks at the same time and really enjoyed it. After getting divorced, my ex kept all of the tanks and just let them go. So, i'm back into it and can't wait to see the tank grow and sustain itself with my new wife and 2 daughters.

What are you planning on keeping?

In terms of plants, I am not sure yet but probably very easy, low light and maintenance types of varying heights and widths. As for fish, tropical schooling, like several neon tetras (for my daughters) and Gouramis and Swordtails. I also thought about doing a couple of Discus but I need for the tank to be in a much better status before I attempt those. My planning is far from complete at this point but as I get the plants and start the tank I will be in a better place to make final decisions as to which fish.

It sounds like what I'm starting up! You can see what it looks like, and what plants I am using if you go to the "aquariums" tab right below my name.
