slowing biowheel current

I just got a biowheel 100 for my 10 gal. and the current is pretty strong. Anytime my fish go near the filter I can see them struggling with the current. Is there any cheap, easy way to diffuse the current?

You can get a piece of filter foam, or any large, open celled foam, and use a silicon rubberband to hold it up against the spillway of your filter. It will slow the current coming out, and act as another biologic filter.
