Good morning from Australia!
Thought that as a newly registered user I should come an introduce myself!
My name is Katey - not new to aquariums, my family has been keeping fish since I was quite small (mostly Oscars and cichlids), so I've always been around and looking after fish and tanks. Very familiar with the basics - cycling etc. I currently have a 120L small species tank, and a 40L tank on my bedside table for my little betta girl.
I am however, about to receive a huge tank that is currently housing a Giant Gourami who is being moved to an aquarium. I haven't got the exact measurements of the tank, but I've been told it's roughly 4ft x 4ft x 3ft. I'll be going around there to measure up the tank myself at some point soon so I have exact measurements to work out capacity. I don't even know where to start thinking about stocking this tank! Obviously I won't know exactly what I'll be looking for until it's fully cycled and I have the parameters of the water, but it's an overwhelming thing to think about!
Anyway, I enjoy looking forward to discussing this with you all in the coming weeks/months. Hope you're all having a great day!
Hey Katey and welcome to TFK!
WoW that sounds like a huge tank you are getting! Best of luck with it and hope you enjoy it here!
Yes Boredomb, we realised that once filled with water, we can't keep it upstairs in our house as the floor would NOT support the weight!!!!!! Haha
Thanks though, I'm looking forward to diving in to discussions here :D
Hello and welcome to the forum!
Welcome to the forum KATEYKMCK - sounds like you are planning some real fun!
Hope you'll keep us posted on developments... the tank measurements listed are a little out of the ordinary and if you find them to be accurate, setting up a tank with those dimensions would make a great tank build thread/journal... and if you find the size noted is not accurate, do a thread journal on the tank build anyway!!!!!
I'm actually australian too!
welcome to the forum :)
