So.... couldn't resist. Had to go to my LFS on the way home and just browseeeee. LOL. Yea, right. So I ended up walking out with 1 male and 2 female kohaku swordtails. Just beautiful fish... acclimated them then they went into my 10 gallon with my 2 female guppies and 1 red platy. Just about overstocked now, dag nabbit. It should be interesting to see if they have babies... which at this point they'll probably just have to eat them. (Gee, doesn't that just sound horrible.) In any case... has anyone had these yet and what has been your experience with them? :) Looks like I'll need to check craigslist for a 20 gallon now...lol!
How much did they cost you? I have some koi swordtails, and if I remember correctly, the kohaku strain was derived from koi swordtails. They can be a bit skittish at first. Any swordtail would do much better in a 20 gallon, which is usually considered the minimum sized tank for swordtails.
They were 4.99 each or 3 for 12.00. Yea... I know I should have a larger tank. Hmm, any idea on the dimensions of a 20 gallon by chance?
I currently have one male in my pond. I'm planning to get two females so I could breed them. They really look great and will go well with the planted tank I'm planning for.
