Just purchased a 55 gallon tank
Hey guys, me n my gf just got a 55 gallon tank, all thats in there is the gravel at the moment, water, and conditioner which will be in there, any ideas of anything, themes, or anything of whatever anybody wants to say.
Any advice?? Thanks.
Also for any1 who reads this i want to do a fishless cycle the right way!! Please advice.
Throw a cocktail shrimp into the tank. It will get the cycle going for you.
Question.. Can u give me some advice on cycling
Stick some food (for a 55 gallon, quite a lot of food) into the tank every two to four days. After you get a ammonia spike, then a nitrite spike, you are done. Wait for the nitrite to come down, and then your tank is cycled.
Erik, you asked the cycling question in two different places. Please use one thread so all of us can follow it and better offer our advice. There is more info in the other thread from myself and others.
Look at the Freshwater Aquarium section. At the Thread (Another Ideas Thread) someone posted. I put a thread about Paludariums that was sort of different and interesting. The tank I saw that was a Paludarium was only a tiny 3 gal. tank. You can google Paludarium and their is a web site on how to get one set up.I posted this under Eileen
