Coralline Caulerpa?

I'm still battling with hair algae, mostly because someone keeps opening up the shades right next to the tank to let light into the room... As I was picking the algae away, I noticed another kind of algae growing up inside the hair algae. It looks like feather algae (Caulerpa), but when the lights have been off for a few hours, it turns solid white, and returns back to green after a while when the lights turn back on.

Yep, that's caulerpa. It'd get that out of the display and into the refugium. IF you are going to trash it, then you need to freeze it and then throw it away. California is having issues with people throwing it away and it making it into the ocean and it's killing a lot of life out there. So please be sure to freeze it for 24 hrs in a ziplock bag and then toss it.

Also, the algae is coming from your water quality and not the sunlight. You have Nitrates and Phosphates present in your tank.
