iradecent shark not doing good
I have a iradecent shark in a 55 gal.The tank just got over ick but for the last 2 weeks this shark has been very lazy.Ive only had him for 2 months, he was alot more active. Especially with the light on he lays in a corner on his side like hes dead.
Any help would be apriciated
What are your water parameters? Iridescent sharks are, like other catfish, particularly prone to ich so even though the main problem might seem to be gone, he could still have ich. Or, more likely even, the ich outbreak weakened his immune system to the point where he caught some other illness.
Also, iridescent sharks make very poor aquarium fish. They are schoolers, especially when young, and are also quite skittish. This behavior continues to adulthood, and since they grow to four feet in length, you're looking at a mammoth tank in order to house them safely. I'm talking thousands of gallons. Anyway, this skittish behavior in fish tanks along with his loneliness could also have contributed to a lowered immune system.
Whatever the case may be, posting your water parameters will be a big help.
