Red Tail sharks?

Does anyone have any info on RTS's??

We are getting a 20 gallon soon and I was wondering if one could possibly live in that size tank. And also what would be a good tank buddy for him? I've heard they can be quite aggressive. Thanks

I used to have one in a 29 gallon tank and it was fine with 4 bala sharks... until one day it jumped out of a small hole in the top of the tank and died.. they are notorious jumpers. Also my bala sharks are now in a large pond because they grow VERY large..

If it was a 20 gallon long, I would say yes, but a 20g tall would be pretty cramped. In a tank that size I wouldn't recommend keeping them with any other bottom-dwelling fish, really. You could do a nice Asian biotope with the shark and a school of 6-8 smaller barbs (tiger or black ruby barbs). I had a rainbow shark (close relative of the red tailed shark) jump on me as well, so they definitely do live up to their reputation for jumping.
