Meet Moondoggie....my first fist.

I just started a 20 gallon tank. So far I have 6 fishies (3 platy, 2 molly, 1 guppy).

Here is Moondoggie. He's my favorite. A Silver Sailfin Molly.

He is very pretty!!
You said "I just started" a 20 gallon.
In an effort to help, I just want to ask if you cycled this tank, have live plants, or a testing kit to help you get thru the Nitrogen cycle? If you answer NO to any/all of these.... please wait to get thru the cycle before you add any more fish.
And we want you to be successful and don't want you to loose any of these fish getting thru the cycle... especially Moondoggie!!

Can you give us a bit more background? We're here to help get you thru!

I don't any live plants. A planted tank is a bit above my beginner level at this time.

I test the water frequently to make sure my levels are good.

I just stocked it with fish at the end of July but I ran a fishless cycle to establish the nitrogen cycle before getting my new fishies. Now I'm working on creating a good tank balance with the new inhabitants. I'm all new to fish ownership, but I read a lot about it when we decided to buy a tank.

Apparently, I was not taking very good care of the Betta I unintentionally acquired from a friend, which was prior to accidentally pouring him down the garbage disposal. Not my finest hour.

I'm a much more responsible fish caretaker now that I know what I am supposed to do, still running into road blocks though.
