Caecilians/shrimp/rams
 

A bunch of pictures from my 55gal tank. Still recovering from losing a lot of fish about a month ago.Still pretty upset about that, lost about 15 fish all in one day:cry:, including my favorite ones. Also of the 9 rummy tetras I bought to replace the ones I lost only 3 made it out of quarantine:-?. The rams I've raised from fry spawned last week:-D. I wasn't expecting it at all, though they ate the eggs after two days its a start. So far I've just been working on maintaining this tank, which is more difficult than before do to the loss of all my algae eaters. I really want to replace some of the fish I lost, but I plan to move out this fall so I'm trying to hold off on doing that. I'm hoping to at some point set this tank up in the biology building of my college. I've been chit chatting with my bio-adviser and other professors in that department. They like the idea, but are so slllloooowwww. Anyway here are pics.

Like your tank and photos.I sympathize with you on the loss of your fish.
Yesterday upon arriving home from work ,,I discovered three of twelve Threadfin Rainbows,and one dead gold ram. The filter had shot craps. Was pleased however that the kuhlii loaches and candy striped pleco were unaffected.

I'm starting to think rams are pretty cool...... maybe one day I will have some... those are beautiful!

I'm loving the ram colours, I've always liked those fish, shiny shiny! However I do have a soft spot for the less convenially attractive denizens of folk's tanks and as such i'm loving your Caecilians, cos I've never come acros them and they look awesome!

Many thanks, I noticed where you live. Do you know about the Minnesota Aquarium Society? You should check it out if your interested. Welcome to MAS is the local site, minnfish.com it the local forum. I went to the meeting last week, it was really interesting. Focused on wild type livebearers. There where some really cool fish. I left before the auction though, if I had stayed I probably would of bought something:-). Those rams I got from one of the auctions last year, so they are locally bred. Less than $1 each, but they were only 1/4" long when I bought them. If people want I can post some pics of fish that were at the last show.

Also here are my newest additions. Also locally bred fish. Some emperor tetras. I've had them 4 days and they are already spawning. They guy said they were easy, but I didn't think that easy... Most of their eggs are getting eaten. I think there are 10 fish, less than $1 each as well.
