Adding Fish to newly cycled aquarium

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone, I have so many questions and I appreciate the answers.

My 50 gal is finally getting cycled after the "seashell incident".

I k now the proper procedure is to add a few fish, then a few more until you have your tank stocked like you want it.

My problem is that I want some specific fish. THere is a place that has all the fish I want about 1-2 hours away from me. They will ship, but I was planning on just picking them up.
Can I safely add several fish to a cycled tank, I plan on adding cycle also.

In the tank I plan on:

6-8 top lined minnows(Maybe a few more)
4 flag fish.
some shiners
and some darters.

So the tank shouldnt really be over stocked I wouldnt think.

Am I going to make it super stressful for the fish?

If it is the best interest of the fish you are concerned with,, Then I believe you already know the answer.Countless are the number of people who wait patiently for the tank to mature,or (cycle) only to add too many fish at once and thus cause the biological filter (good bacteria) to become overwhelmed which in turn, causes Ammonia, and or nitrite spike that takes the lives of many of their fish. Always best in my view,, to stock slowly,a few fish at a time to prevent what I described.;-)

I'm with 1077. Take it slowly. You've got at least two, probably 3 additions worth of fish there.
