Worm help please!
You may have read that I just lost my dwarf puffer.
Anyways, today I looked in the tank to find about four of these worms climbing on my plants.
I do feed my fish blackworms, but these worms do not look or move like the blackworms.
I don"t think it is a leach, it does not appear to have a sucker mouth.
I am worried that these worms could cause IP.
My guess is that they hitch hiked with plants. My water quality is good, Zero ammonia and nitites, weekly 50% water changes.
Anyone know what these worms are and what I should do about them? They almost move cetipede like, able to raise their heads up in the water.(no legs)
Looks like it is planaria! What I have read does not sound like it would cause the death of my DP.
I agree that it does indeed look like planaria. The reasons I have read that causes them to manifest is that "an aquarist has overfed his/her fish, the aquarium gravel is not hoovered correctly and/or aquarium ammonia levels have risen". Those reasons certainly don't seem to apply to you considering your maintenance & feeding routines. I've read your threads and know you're on top of it. I have no idea where they came from but they aren't related to the death of your puffer based on everything I've read. So, where did they come from?? :-?
I had been adding some pants. I bought one westeria plant and the fish fought over it, so I had to buy another.
Yea, I don't believe I have an over feeding problem. I read it is posible for them to hitch hike in plants, so I would rather believe that caused it, than me doing something wrong.
I wanted to remove the other worms, but when I went back to the tank, they where nowhere to be seen. Think I will keep an eye dropper next to the tank for sucking them out.
