Wild-caught Sailfin Mollies
Does anyone know how much a breeding trio of wild caught sailfin mollies should cost. I have a large amount that I have caught and would like to sell some of them to people in my area but have no idea what to ask for them. I really don't want to just give them away to some one who is going to put them in a fish bowl with untreated water so they can die quickly. Also I just installed a 250 gallon pond in my front garden and need a UV sterilizer and a pump and lights and fountains and such so i figured this might be a good way to help me out with that.

NOTE: I don't want all you nice folks out there to think I just got on this site to try and sell these fish. I love fish and plan on keeping several females and males for my self. Just looking for some help.

I am in Texas and they are in a little drainage ditch that i live right next to and have caught over a hundred of these guys some are bland but others have large sails and great color. Some of the females are rather large and i have one male that is almost three inches. I have also caught some gambusia affinis lots and lots of these i am putting in the pond to eat the mosquito larva. I know i can sell these for like 50 cents a piece. Anyway yeah it is pretty awesome.

If you know how to ship fish you can make some money by selling on - Sell or buy aquarium related equipment and fish in an auction format!
Go to the home page and look under livebearers wild stock. Their is a listing of all kinds of wild livebearers. I saw some today that had a listing for 1pr. of wild Mollies for $28. If you have craigslist in your area sell them as a trio for a fair price. 2 females to 1 Male for $10 to make it even. I sell with some food in a small container. Sometimes I add extra plants I have with the fish. I sold pairs of fish on craigslist below what the fish store sells them and I have had no problem in rehoming them on craigslist for a fair price . You can post under Pets, or General and it's free to post for 7 days. After that you can repost it. craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums You can also sell them to Aquarium shops but sometimes they will only take them for credit. Call around and see if any are interested and see what they are willing to pay you. Post Pics of the Mollies if you can. I would like to see what they look like. Good Luck!

I'm glad to have helped you. You were smart to list it in the $ section. That's the area where you get the best deals. I bought my Yellow shrimp on Aqua-bid from a Missfish, 10 for $14 and $10 to ship. She thru in 5 extra shrimp and some water sprite plants. Hope your auction goes well. I have no clue how to ship fish. Aqua-bid is really neat sort of like E-bay for fish and fish stuff. Did it cost to sell stuff on Aqua-bid? Good Luck!

You have mosquito fish!!!!!!!!!! By the way gambusia affinis are also called mosquito fish. I love mosquito fish and my favorite and last one died a while back... But i love mosquito fish, and they look jsut like guppies which is why I like guppies so much (they look a lot alike)

If anyone knows a lot about guppies or swordtails, could you please answer my thread, which has questions about my fish, that I am very worried about!
