Best Plants For New fry
My guppy is expecting again. and was wondering whats the number one best plant for them to hide in? without covering the surface of the tank.
Hornwort. To keep it from covering the surface .you could place it on the bottom with someting to hold it down. Also Frogbit,or Indian fern. All are good at sucking up NitrAtes.(good thing).

Java moss. It will protect the fry while leaving them free to swim all through it. It does not float but sits nicely on the bottom of the tank. Sometimes the filter flow will move it around but that means it will settle somewhere other than where you first put it. It can also be tied to decorations with fishing line which will keep it nicely in place. This is a small clump of it in my guppy tank. It is tied to the piece of wood you can see. The wood has a fork in it. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...GuppyClump.jpg

One of the 4 females dropped the other night, the angels couldnt have been happier.
Java Moss is prolly the best, you can anchor it AND float it, if it takes over just grab it by the handful and sell it, give it away or toss it out.

well I would have plenty of plants in the tank. for hiding. as people have advised me to do so. make sure they dont get sucked into the filter. putting a sponge over the intake tube. or netting. would help prevent that from happening..
