Old Chrome Lid for 29 gallon aquarium safe to use?
This is a very nice lid that is probably 20-25 yrs. old but I was wondering if it was safe because there is no protection from humidity for the lightbulb. If I were to explain this, the lightbulb is on the lid to feed the fish, and where the newer lids lightbulbs are is a storage area.
Is this safe to use? Thanks.
Ok, think I might be hinting at my age here, but as a kid, my brother had an aquarium with the chrome frame and lid as you describe, never had any problems with it.
I guess if it makes you feel unsafe, you could always make a guard for the bulb.
heheh, Thanks Twistersmom, I'm thinking I should be alright as well.
It should be fine. A few local people still run metal frame tanks, with the slate bottoms:lol:.
