55 gal stock suggestions?
Hello everyone. I finally got around to setting up my 55 gallon. Right now I'm waiting for the sand to settle. Water parameters are perfect so far. I won't be stocking it just yet but it's time to think about what kind of fish to put in there!
Severum pair (at least one severum is a must for me)
And that's as far as I got. The fish store I go to keeps their severums in the same tank as angelfish so I know they'll get along fine. The question is how many angelfish should I get? Also, should I get a pair of severums or just one?
I was thinking some kind of Cory cat for the bottom but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!
Severums are too large for a 55, in my opinion. I couldn't imagine keeping mine in a 55. I would just stick with angels.
Just because fish are kept together at the store doesn't mean that they will get along in your tank. For starters, the fish are stressed at the store and do not act normally under those conditions. Too, the fish sold are generally small and you cannot judge how things will be when the fish are grown by how they are when they are young, particularly with cichlids.
