Water hardness for livebearers
What should the water hardness be for livebearers? I am starting a tank and I am all ready except for that darn hardness. Some places are saying really high and some are saying really low. I need both Kh and Gh.

What hardness do you have in your water now?

120 kh and gh

Both are 120 ppm?? So 7dgh?

I would think that live bearers would need harder water.

Livebearers are pretty tolerant of ANYTHING, but they will do best in harder water. Do you know what specific fish you intend to keep? Check our Reference Material on the toolbar above. There's section for Livebearers in there that might be able to get you started. . .

I haven't put the fish in yet and I do know that I'm going to keep swordtails, guppies, mollies and possibly some others.
