Need QUICK answer about filter for a 30gallon

I'm in quite a dilemma here. I am planning on buying my gf a tank for her bday as she really wants one. I'm debating back and forth between a 20 and 30 gallon. I would like to get the 30 gallon, assuming i have all of the money for it. I am working with very limited time as today and tomorrow are the only days she has worked when i didn't so i need to move fast and get everything picked up. She has the weekend off to spend with me and her family, so i need everything picked up no later than tomorrow. I'd like to get it all out of the way today if possible. I plan on going with a Penguin HOB filter, i just need to know what size works best for a 30.

Fantastic. THat was what i was leaning towards. I had also been suggested to use a 150 or 200 for a 20, so i wasn't sure. I thought if you could use a 200 for a 20 it might be too little for a 30. Thanks!

No, a 200 is pretty big for a 20. I'd probably use a 150 on a 20.

I got a 200 for my 29 gallon and it was a whirlpool in there...I had to return it. The water was practically splashing out of the tank. What kind of fish are you planning on getting?
