Luckily no fish were harmed, so dont know would love to take the next step in size and wonder about the 2.. any help would be great ... THANKs

I prefer glass, I have had two acrylic tanks in my house and they seem to me to grow algae faster than glass but mabye It's just me. Also check Ebay And Craigslist for great tank deals lots to choose from usauly
I like glass. Acrylic scratches much more easily.
Glass. I love my Eclipse but acrylic scratches too easily. It's not just internet hearsay, it really does.
If you don't plan on putting anything against the wall (scratching it), acrylic is much lighter...
I didn't put anything against the front of the tank. It will get scratched whether or not you lean something against it.
Also, even if its lighter, how often are you actually going to move it?
the one thing i see that acrylic has going for it is that there are no seams to leak, i think!
I have use for both. my smaller 5 gallon is acrylic and the larger one is glass.
i prefer glass tanks over acrylic.........as stated, acrylic scratches much too easy and i have seen acrylic tanks start to fog up after years of use..............Yes, they are lighter, and yes, SOME have no seams, but i dont move my tanks very often and only ever had 2 tanks leak in 20 years of fish keeping............
I've used both kinds of tanks.
While there are perks to acrylic (better thermal insulation, No leaky seams, and lighter)
I MUCH prefer glass. I don't have to worry about scratching it nearly as much.
