I got a steal of a deal on a nano.
I bought a 24 gallon nano with power compacts; PLUS:
30 lbs of live rock
2 clown fish
a half purple/half yellow fish
several hermit looking things
a power head
chemicals/ coral food
$225; I gave him $230
Good deal? :-D
I bought it from one of the guys from the lfs, hes a friend of mine. Hes going to teach me how to do this thing. I don't have a clue about salt water stuff.
I'm going to post pictures when the water clears up.
Anyone have any sharks for sale?????:twisted::twisted::twisted:
theres no way your tank will make it. even with all the stuff, your tank won't cycle. the corals will die quicker than u can see "Oops Corals are really sensitive", and fish will follow. your tank will cloud up so bad u won't be able to see a thing, and by the time it clears up, everything will be dead. corals, fish, crabs-dead. your "friend" ripped u off. i notice this post was made a week ago. im bettin every single last thing in that tank is dead and its super cloudy.
What are we betting? Because, you are 100% INACCURATE. Everything is alive, corals are doing great.
glad to hear all is doing well though!
The tank cleared up?
Did you buy his salt water??
did he include it?
did you have to mix it first?
There was no problem in the first place with the tank. This tank was set-up as his personal tank in his office for a long time.
Cycle this, cycle that. Folks. It is my first SALT water tank, but no where near my first rodeo.
I'm glad to hear that the move went fine and your tank is doing well. The reason we bring up cycling is that when you move tanks like that, you often change the water parameters, and have significant die off, which changes the water again if not properly filtered, and the cycle goes again and again. The point of cycling is to make sure mainly your live rock and sand can handle and "digest" the bio load of your tank. It is very, very rare that you can get away with out cycling; and you are very luck...
Good Luck with you tank!
u are very lucky that the fish aren't dying. the way u first said it sounded like u just bought it. if it was already used, your tank will go through a quick mini-cycle,which at this point should be almost done.
That was not bad of a deal, congrats!
Good deal dude.
Guys, the tank was already a runner. A local one too. 24 gallons isn't out of the question to transport a few miles...
