New Recruit!! haha

Hey everyone. I'm from Ohio and I just got into this hobby. I started my first tank about 1 month ago. Within the first week I lost my entire tank (damn!) due to a heater malfunction. I had 2 mollies, 1 pockadot cat which was absolutely cool as hell and very active and also an iredescent shark. Now after starting over I have 4 lyretail mollies (1 yellow, 1 black, and 2 white) 1 mickey mouse platty and 3 red platties with black tails also an algae eater. My tank is still cycling with an ammonia level of about 1.0 and these fish are very active and eat well. I want to add live plants soon but for now I just have a plastic one with a couple bubble stones. My substrate is small gravel but ive put flat river rock on top of the gravel lately and made a little cave with the same type rock where the bubbles shoot out of. Its a work in progress but Im just happy the fish seem to be doing well. Before I go I want to share the story of when I brought these mollies home. So 3 of the 4 were in one bag that was placed inside a paper bag. half way home I checked on them and I saw all kinds of crap floating around and I was like wtf well with a closer look the black one was giving birth!!! I was like OMG no way. Well the mollies saw the offspring as well and started to eat them right away so I put it back in the back and when I got home there was about 15 little ones in there I had to acclimate them and by the time I put them in the tank all the little guys were eaten. It really sucked to lose all those young ones but it was soooo cool to have that happen to me. Well here I am just a total newb looking forward to meeting others who have come to find that their "crack" in life are these little marvelous fishies... haha

That Ammonia level is too high....do a water change...should not be over .50 w/ fish.
