Xenia Coral Question

I have a 10 gallon nano tank with 4 watts per gallon compact flourescent lighting. The coral is two days old and fully opened. How long will it be before it starts reproducing like a weed?

Thanks in advance.

It really depends. For some people it doesn't grow at all and other tanks it's a weed. My tanks it has been a weed. My 90 is infested with xenia. Every couple weeks I cut it all off with a razor blade and give it away and grows right back. That's under halides/vho at about 6.5 watts/gal.

Nutrients in the water plays a part in this as well. If you have high nutrients (nitritaes and trace materials) you'll see them grow quickly. If the water is "clean" (nitrates 0ppm) they will normally die out. It can take a while.
