Bumble bee cichlid Color change
I have a 75g malawian community. I have three bumble bee chichlids whith 19 other cichlids. I just recently did a 50% water change and raised the pH. He has turned much more black than the others. What could be going on. Thanks.
Hello................its hard to say, but a few questions for you.........How long has the tank been set up for?.......Are these adult fish or juveniles?.......Do you know the sex of the fish that is changing his colors?..........IMO, doing a 50% water change is too much, unless you were having a bad water parameters readings..........I would never do more than 25 to 30%
bumblebees do this often..theyre often nicknamed "chameleon" cichlids..
can be from stress, or often a sign of dominance, or during mating. My males (three of them) change colors very quickly very often depending on how feisty they are with each other..then return to normal once they calm down.
sounds like he is stressed out from the water change
