searching for reliable powerhead for 80 gal tank.
I am wondering what would be a suitable powerhead for freshwater 80 gal tank. The tank will be home for Severum, Clown loaches(3) Chocolate Pleco, six julii corys. I have plenty of mechanical and biological filtration but am looking for submersible powerhead for increased circulation.
The only powerheads available thus far,in my area are Aquaclear which don't appear to be submersible or,are they? Thought I would post this where there are more expierienced people than myself in regards to powerheads. Many thanks in advance! Lee.
hydor ks are cheap and get the job done IMO.
exactly how much flow are you looking for? a hydor k1 or k2 would prob. be plenty depending on what your going for.
Not much flow actually. It is kind of an expieriment. I have a sand substrate that slopes from back of tank to the front and am looking for small submersible powerhead to help direct the waste from fish to the front of the tank thus making it easier to remove. Powerhead wouldn't necessarily need to be capable of providing strong flow ,but enough to help with that which I have attempted to describe. I appreciate the info on hydor's and will check it out. Thanks!:thankyou:
heres a link for an idea as to what they are, i think a K1 (400gph) would be fine for this, a K2 (600gph) to be safe.
