Whats the best submersible pump on the market?
Im new to sump filters but i just got one the other day. Whats the best subersible pump out there? Im looking for somthing well made, quiet, and somthing around 600 to 900gph. What are your opinions on this?
i have a few submersible pumps.
two mag 7s, two mag 9.5s, one 24. i like these, they seem well made, heavy and solid. the larger ones will raise your temp a few degrees but thats prob. the only downfall i see. there may be a slight hum but inside a stand i dont think you will hear much.
i also have a quietone pump. easy to take the impellar out for cleaning. doesnt seem as well made as a mag. light and seems to have more plastic. i have yet to plug it in, so i dont know how loud it is, if the name is what it is, then i would assume its quiet.
anyways, in your shoes i would get a mag. since your looking for 6-900 gph the number of the mag is that much gph. for example a mag 9.5 is 950gph and a 7 is 700. keep in mind a pump will have some head loss. this is the gph that is lost due to the height the water has to be pumped. i know with the mags the first 4 feet isnt much of a loss.
how are you planning on getting the water down to the sump? the pumps going to pump the water up, but whats going to get it into the tank, locline?
I just looked them up on line and yes your right. Looks like a good well built tank of a pump haha. I dont have a drilled tank so im using an overflow box. I want one with duel outlets. What do you think is the best for piping... PVC, rubber tubing? i dont know what would be best.
Also what would be a good flow rate for a 90 gallon? I dont want to overkill with my sump.
since this is in the freshwater section im going to assume this is all for a freshwater tank?
pvc for the plumbing. http://www.fishforum.com/member-subm...g-sumps-15930/
