We have ghost shrimp in two of our tanks, it is the only kind of shrimp available to me in my area. I love them, watching them scurry around. The three in our 55g have survived even with angelfish and clown loaches but they have several good hiding places. The four in our 10g are our sole bottom feeders in that tank. They roam the whole tank since their tankmates are much more peaceful.

Are you wanting them to be your sole bottom feeder? We also feed ours sinking pellet food in addition to them eating whatever else they scavenge for. I would take into consideration what else you want in the tank before choosing them because they may possibly be eaten.
