Some Angels

Newest addition to the tank. Working on my photography skill, trying some different lenses and camera was in full manual mode. After about 150 something shots.

ohhhhh nice! perception is hard to tell with pictures; how big are they. Your blushing koi looks like my Jezabelle.

BarbH 07-13-2013 12:27 AM

Thanks, the koi range from a little bigger than quarter size on the body, but not quite at the half dollar stage. The blushing smokey is getting close to nickle size. I expect that I should see a pair forming up probably around the end of the year. I was using a macro lens on these pictures.

mine are too busy worrying about what they are gonna eat to be interested in pairing..... I have 3 and they are the about the size of the bottom of a coke can. maybe a bit smaller. I think they have dropped their breeding tubes, but anytime i try to spy on em they see me and just look at me. Cant get them from the sides to sex em.

All of my angels that I have kept have always had a healthy appetite. I use to have one female that would start waggling as soon as she saw me enter the room. For sexing I had to wait until I was able to catch them in the act. Give them time, with 3 you might get a pair.

yeah I don't really care about breeding them anyway. Just would like to know what i got lol. It really doesn't matter much to me what sex they are except pure curiosity.

Beautiful! I can't wait to get some angels. :) I hope I can find some as pretty as those!

Thank you for the compliments. It is angels that really got me into keeping fish and seriously learning about the hobby. Even after taking a year away from the freshwater side of the hobby while I tried my hand at saltwater, when I came back everything about the tank has been centered around these guys.

The angel in the first picture unfortunatly I found dead yesterday before I left for work. Thinking it may have not adjusted well to the stress of changing tanks. It had been acting healthy the night before and even eating when I fed them. The store I got them from does have a 7 day guarentee, so I was able to replace it. It was one of my favorites out of the group and I was looking forward to seeing it grow out.
