question about pumps....

i have a couple of maxijet 1200 pumps and i have been using them with the oxygen tube. My question is i want to put the pump lower in my tank and in order to do o i need to remove the tube. Can i do without the air hose?

thanks

The air tube is intended to provide a venturi, to be used when the Maxi Jet is powering a Protein Skimmer. For directly placement in the water, you would be best not to use the air tubes.

Agreed, if you're worried about O2 in the tank, your skimmer should be doing the job for you. If you don't have one, then surface agitation will do the same job. I just hope you are planning on keeping any anthias ;-)
