What is a good plant for my tank?
I have a 20 gallon tank with 11 guppies and 4 platy fish. I do not have any plants in my tank and want to get some. I have a gravel bottom tank. What is a good plant for my tank? I like a few different plants, so any help would be great! thanks

what kind of light do you have and how many watts?

I have an 18 inch plant light. It says on the back that it is 19 watts.

In general most places that sell plants state their light requirements as low light, medium, or high. You will want plants that require low light. From there it depends on you water, some plants like harder water some don’t. More than anything in my experience it’s a game of trial and error. You might try an Anubias Barteri they seem to do well in most conditions.

I should add that some places sell terrestrial plants as aquatic plants and they will slowly die over a few weeks in an aquarium. You will want to avoid these plants, so research the plants before you buy them.

As you have livebearers, I'm assuming the pH of the water is neutral to slightly alkaline, so Vallisneria would probably do well. I had a 15g years ago with livebearers and one 15w tube for light and vallisneria grew like mad.
